19 free AI and digital marketing tools for 2026
Vendor pricing, help pages, and license terms checked October 15, 2026. “Free” means $0 in recurring software subscription fees for the free features described, within the plan’s limits. Features and eligibility can vary by account, country, and product version. Check the linked plan before signing up.
You can put together a useful digital marketing toolkit without paying monthly software fees. Free AI assistants can help with copy and research, while other tools cover SEO, email, social publishing, analytics, and customer management. All 19 tools have an ongoing free offering. Some also let you try paid features for a limited time.
Before choosing a tool, check whether its free allowance covers the campaigns you plan to run. Email sends, contact limits, queued posts, AI usage, and user seats can all put a ceiling on what you can do.
1. Writing, research, and copy editing
ChatGPT Free
OpenAI currently describes ordinary text conversations on Free as unlimited, subject to controls against abuse. Uploads, image creation, voice, and data analysis have separate caps. ChatGPT can help you draft copy and outlines, try ad variants, or repurpose existing content. Check every factual claim and edit the copy for your brand before publishing. OpenAI’s Free-tier FAQ.
Claude Free
Claude Free is useful for drafting and editing longer pieces, with a usage allowance that resets every five hours. The number of messages you can send depends on demand, conversation length, and complexity. Anthropic does not promise a fixed count. Anthropic’s Free-plan guidance, usage-limit details.
Gemini without a paid Google AI plan
You can use Gemini without a paid Google AI plan under Google’s standard usage allowance. Longer chats, complex prompts, and demanding features use more computing resources and consume more of that allowance. Usage refreshes every five hours until you reach the weekly cap. Model and feature availability can change, so check Google’s current limits before planning work around them. Gemini usage limits and feature availability.
Connecting Google services can help with research, but access depends on your account. The Google Ads connection requires an associated Ads account and a personal Google Account with Keep Activity enabled. You must be 18 or over, and it currently works in English in supported regions. Work and school accounts cannot use that connection. Other Workspace connections need a qualifying edition and permission in your administrator’s settings. Google Ads connection requirements, Workspace account requirements.
Perplexity Free
Perplexity describes basic searches on Free as practically unlimited. You also get three Pro Searches per day and one Research query per month. Advanced AI models are excluded. The source links are a useful starting point for research; open the original pages before using a statistic in published copy. Perplexity’s plan comparison.
Grammarly Free
Grammarly Free checks spelling and grammar and tells you what tone it detects. It also includes 100 generative AI prompts per month. You need Pro for one-click full-sentence rewriting and tone adjustment. Free works well for a final check alongside an editor’s review. Grammarly’s plan comparison.
2. Design and video
Canva Free
Canva Free has design templates, an editor, and selected AI tools. Its monthly AI allowance is estimated to cover up to 20 simple uses of eligible Standard or Premium tools. Those tools share the allowance, and complex tasks can reduce the number of uses. The free plan excludes Ultra AI tools. Canva pricing, AI allowance.
Canva’s Free Content license permits ads, promotional designs, and social posts, subject to its restrictions. Check the category of each asset you use. Pro content may cost extra, editorial-only content has commercial restrictions, and Popular Music has a separate license. Content License Agreement.
CapCut Free
CapCut’s free video editor includes some AI-assisted tools for short-form content. Check which features and assets are free before you export.
Ordinary CapCut Sounds are limited to personal, non-commercial use unless you obtain the necessary rights separately. Commercial Sounds cover sharing on CapCut, TikTok, and TikTok for Business. You need separate permission from the rights holders to use them on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. For business videos, use your own or properly licensed audio. Choose library assets marked for commercial use, and check their permitted uses, territory, and license period. CapCut’s editor, Materials License Agreement.
Microsoft Designer’s free consumer app is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with a Microsoft account. That license makes it unsuitable for business marketing. Microsoft Designer FAQ.
3. SEO and topic research
Google Search Console
Once you verify a site, Search Console shows its search impressions, clicks, click-through rates, and indexing information. You can also see many of the queries that brought people to the site. Google omits some queries for privacy and truncates some data rows, so the query list is incomplete. Search performance, indexing report, query limitations.
Google Trends
Google Trends shows sampled, normalized search interest on a 0 to 100 scale. Use it to compare topics, locations, and seasonal patterns. It does not show absolute search volume. Google Trends data FAQ.
Ahrefs Free
Ahrefs Free, previously called Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, gives verified website owners access to Site Audit and Site Explorer for their own sites. The published allowance includes 5,000 Site Audit crawl credits per project per month. Site Explorer displays up to 1,000 backlinks or keywords at once. The standalone free tools have their own result limits, so check each tool’s allowance instead of assuming a single daily quota. Ahrefs Free, documented free-account limits.
AnswerThePublic Free
AnswerThePublic turns suggestions from search engines and other platforms into questions and content angles. You get three searches per day with a free account, though some results and data stay locked. The AI prompt suggestions come from keyword variations, so treat them as ideas to investigate. Generating articles requires Content Studio credits, which Free does not include. Free-plan limits, how the data is collected.
Ubersuggest Free
Ubersuggest allows three free searches per day. Use its keyword ideas and volume estimates to decide which topics to cover first. Ubersuggest’s free-version guidance.
Google Ads Keyword Planner is another free keyword research tool, but you must finish setting up an Ads account, including billing information, to access it. Skip it if you’d prefer to avoid billing setup. Its “Competition” metric measures advertiser competition; you’ll need a separate measure for organic SEO difficulty. Keyword Planner overview, access requirements, metric definitions.
4. Email marketing
| Free plan ($0/month) | Current published limit | Practical catch |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo | 300 email sends per day; store up to 100,000 contacts | Unused sends do not roll over. A campaign with more than 300 recipients reaches only 300 on the scheduled day; manually requeue the rest on later days. Emails carry Brevo branding. |
| MailerLite | 250 active subscribers and 2,500 sends per month | Two users, one landing page, three forms, and three automations. New accounts can try extra features during a separate 14-day premium trial. |
| Mailchimp | 250 contacts, 500 sends per month, and 250 sends per day | One audience and one user seat. Subscribed, unsubscribed, and non-subscribed contacts count toward the contact allowance. |
Choose your email tool around the limit you’re likely to hit first. Brevo can store a much larger list, though the daily send cap limits how quickly you can reach everyone. MailerLite gives a small list more monthly sends, while Mailchimp’s Free tier works for a small test list. MailerLite reduced its allowance from 500 to 250 active subscribers and from 12,000 to 2,500 monthly sends in its update effective June 16, 2026. Campaign and automation emails share that monthly sending allowance.
5. Social scheduling
Buffer Free
Buffer Free lets one user connect up to three channels and queue 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time. Each published post frees a slot, so you can keep adding posts as the queue clears. The limit applies to queue size, not monthly posting volume. The Free plan also includes Buffer’s AI Assistant. Buffer pricing, queue-limit explanation.
6. Analytics and CRM
Google Analytics 4
A standard GA4 property gives you free site and app analytics, including automated insights. GA4’s free standard version, automated insights.
To use predictive metrics and audiences, your property needs enough eligible event data and sustained model quality. Purchase predictions also need purchase events. Google’s published threshold includes at least 1,000 returning users who met the relevant condition and 1,000 who did not during a seven-day period in the past 28 days. A small new site may not qualify. Predictive prerequisites.
Gemini-powered Ask Advisor is still in beta and appears only for eligible English-language properties. Ask Advisor availability.
HubSpot Free CRM
HubSpot’s free CRM lets you organize contacts, deals, and tasks. It also includes email tracking, meeting scheduling, and live chat. Free has no expiration date and currently allows 1,000 contacts and two users. Marketing email has a separate cap of 2,000 sends per calendar month and carries HubSpot branding. HubSpot Free CRM, HubSpot’s Free Tools catalog.
7. Automation
Zapier Free
Zapier Free includes 100 tasks per month for one user, with unlimited two-step Zaps. Each Zap has one trigger followed by one action. Polling triggers check for updates every 15 minutes; premium apps need a paid plan. The free plan can cover small handoffs, such as adding form submissions to a spreadsheet. Before relying on a workflow, check the connected apps and how they use tasks. Some actions consume more than one task. Zapier pricing, Free-plan help.

Before building a campaign around a free plan, confirm its limits on the plan page and verify AI-written claims against primary sources. If you want to paste customer lists or confidential campaign data into a consumer AI chat, check the provider’s data settings and your obligations first. OpenAI provides Data Controls, and Google’s Gemini privacy guidance cautions users about confidential information.
